CURRICULUM

 3 Year Olds

The 3 year old class is “child led” in that we strive to provide an atmosphere that promotes fun learning while at the same time learning important skills (lining up, sitting for 10 to 15 minutes at a time, etc.)  We work with the children within the daily structure, but are flexible enough to try new things and change it up now and then.

Our daily schedule includes activities which expose each child to colors, shapes, numbers, the alphabet, nursery rhymes, Biblical themes, geography, the calendar (days, months, holidays), his or her full name, birthday, age and to recognize his or her name on sight.

Our activities promote social interaction, development of fine and gross motor skills, listening skills, and following simple directions.

4 Year Olds

The 4 year old class is geared toward preparing each child for Kindergarten-level readiness, whether in elementary school or as a homeschooled student.

The curriculum provides age appropriate exposure to SOL criteria in Language Arts, Math, Social Studies and Science in a no-pressure manner to establish a foundation for future learning.  Nondenominational Christian stories and devotions are interwoven throughout the daily lessons.

Our daily activities promote social interaction, creative reasoning, following multi-step instructions and a desire for exploration of a multitude of topics.
